18 new Sweaties in the L-art Shop

Gale Force 9 in the L-art Shop: 18 new Sweaties are spicing up the selection of my art available there. This relatively new format consists of photographs that originate from the very center of my daily life. These 18 new Sweaties are also available for download in print-ready resolution in the L-art Shop, complementing the 12 pieces already listed there. Thus, a total of 30 such artworks – grouped under the collective title "Lively Views" – are now ready to beautify the personal living spaces of their respective viewers. After downloading, customers can have the Sweaties printed out and hung up. In conjunction with their respective titles, these images enable viewers to adopt a broader perspective. Their subject matter consists of everyday objects presented in unusual combinations. Sweaties encourage viewers to think outside the box and help pull them out of their daily routines, thereby allowing them to adopt a fresh mental standpoint.

A new perspective turns things upside down.

The "Two Merged Ways" Sweatie serves as a perfect example to illustrate my creative process: I recently picked up the pictured Christmas cactus branch from the floor of my living room and placed it on my table. Upon noticing the branch's Y-shape, I spontaneously turned it upside down to form the shape depicted here. Thus, "Two Merged Ways" came into being one of the most evocative pieces among my 18 new Sweaties. The Christmas cactus from which this branch originated a plant that remains lush and vibrant was a gift from my dear mother back in 2001. It has since become a permanent fixture in my home, resting atop my oak wardrobe. That wardrobe, too, was a gift one my parents gave me when I was fifteen.

"Starters to a new way"

A red shoehorn and my current cellar key may serve as symbols of the new journey I embarked upon in 2024 with my company, L-art. They hang one above the other on a wall in my hallway. I call this particular Sweatie "Starters to a New Way". By way of further background, it is worth noting that numerous items used for the exhibition of my art are currently stored in my small cellar. I recently purchased the shoehorn at IKEA in Hanau. The red circle at the top of the shoehorn where it flares out into the scoop of the accessory symbolizes something positive in my eyes. In this same spirit, through the 18 new Sweaties I have created, I seek to convey a positive attitude toward life to my customers. Fundamentally, Sweaties embody a cheerful, down-to-earth outlook on life.

Reduction as an Essential Stylistic Device

The quote "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" is attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. Through his groundbreaking inventions, he enormously enriched people's lives many centuries ago. In this same spirit, I, too time and again strive to infuse my art with a reduction to the essentials, and to reflect that very quality within it. :D
