A trip to Morocco in spring

Spring is beginning, and with it, perhaps for some of us, comes the travel bug. After creating an Instagram post yesterday based on the graffiti "I love Koffer" from Aschaffenburg, I decided this morning over breakfast to travel to Morocco for four weeks starting March 20th. The decision was also influenced by the "Dancing with Love" project I completed this week. A photo of me from 1995, taken in the Moroccan coastal town of Essaouira, spontaneously found its way into it. Back then, I had traveled to the Maghreb country with my former partner, Gudrun, and she had taken this photo. Old memories resurfaced, and this morning I felt a strong longing to visit the country again. Perhaps this time, 30 years after my last trip, I'll experience it from a new perspective. I'm very excited, and my flight departs from Frankfurt Airport to Tangier via Madrid next Thursday at 6:30 a.m.
My travels
Traveling has always been a passion of mine. In my younger years, I traveled with my parents – later I explored North Africa, and in 2000 I visited the Seychelles. These trips shaped me profoundly, and I met people who had a lasting impact on my life. Especially in my younger years, I visited the renowned port city of Tangier three times, a city that perhaps represents the crossroads between Spain and Africa.
Hungary as a destination
My journey in 2024 took me from Aschaffenburg to Budapest at the end of July, traveling by night train. The result of this trip is my current career as an artist with my company L-art, and consequently, the creation of the Fornos. Inspired by two different ideas, I'm currently seeking further inspiration for my art in Morocco until mid-April. The last few weeks have been very demanding, so I'm looking forward to experiencing spring in this Arab country, perhaps also to relaxing a bit. I'm excited about what awaits me there and very open to the local atmosphere.
Morocco
Many of us might associate Morocco with hashish use – but this North African country offers its visitors much more: a history spanning approximately 6,000 years, beginning with settlement by the Berbers. Today, the country is predominantly Muslim, a religion practiced by large segments of society in Germany as well. I'm looking forward to experiencing this culture again in this land on the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts from March 20th to April 17th, 2025. :D
